Through the wine landscapes of the Hageland with a 2CV

This route breathes wine, driving up and down narrow lanes and being treated to vistas. After a few kilometres you arrive at the moedermeule , too early to do a terrace? Partly unpaved, you now ride on through the fruit orchards that are beautifully in bloom in the season to the centre of Wezemaal. From here it goes rural and ever higher to Chartreuzenberg , the first wine estate .After a brisk descent behind Napoleon's Bed we ride towards Galgenberg Chapel and so on to the ghost of Horst Castle. After this stop you really enter the beating heart of the wine region , Houwaart . You can even book a tasting and tour by appointment and listen to the punishing stories of well-heeled winemakers. When the sun shines, you'll feel like you're on holiday in the south. Dream away on a bench overlooking a vineyard atop the Houwaart mountain or drive right up to the middle of a vineyard and enjoy your picnic.
